WIGAN are again expected to be in the capable hands of Shaun Wane when they travel over the Pennines for Friday’s clash with Super League champions Leeds. Warriors head coach Michael Maguire flew home to Australia last week to be with his seriously ill father, and was initially due to return tomorrow. That is now extremely unlikely to be the case, and assistant coach Wane will remain in charge of the first team until Maguire returns. “Michael’s father is still ill and he is going to stay in Australia for as long as he needs to,” Wane told the Wigan Evening Post.
