Powell has been a problem for several years, not just in reaction to Friday. The club needs to think about another long term interchange 9 option alongside O’Neill

O’Neill’s fast and accurate distribution was great to get fast ball to Smithies / Smith to create that extra yard of space for Field to exploit. A slower, inaccurate pass from dummy half, which is inevitable with Powell, means our attack loses that sharpness.
