Re: Leeds Rhinos chief wants no complaints if players face three games a week

Well if it wasn't an April fools joke it ought to be. Fans aren't going to travel to watch three games a week and there is every chance some teams could run out of players as injuries mount up due to that sort of schedule. He's dismissed the idea of player welfare including their physical welfare, t...

Re: Thoughts on no relegation this year?

I am not in favour of relegation at the best of times. I just think it's never worked at all ever since the game went full time. That said we have P&R but I can't see how they can relegate a side after having played a handful of games which is what looks to be on the cards. This would seem harsh on ...

Can't remember if it works like this but I thought they stay sat in your outbox until the recipient reads them?

Re: People are just fecking mental!

Here is another article that discusses the technicalities and the science of what is going on and particularly the UK's response to events and how a poor grasp of science seems to have led us down a path we could have avoided.

The UK's coronavirus policy may sound scientific. It isn't

Re: Super League have a ready-made poster boy for its return

I am sure he'd do very well in that role but what is the incentive? If he gets paid for it, it counts on the salary cap. Maybe with funds being tight and assuming the sports survives the crisis it might lead to a shake up as to how clubs and players can earn. I really do think it's outrageous player...

Re: Is everyone ok?

All fine here. As most people on here probably know I work from home so life has seen little change for me - so far. Already set up to do so and have been enjoying be able to swear at the computer etc when the need arises for some time. Alas my peace is due to be shattered as my wife's nursery schoo...

Re: Super League's crunch meeting: playing behind closed doors 'an option'

Do we know what they decided? Thinking about playing behind closed doors - if, as suggested elsewhere - games were spread over Thu, Fri, 2 x Sat and 2 x Sun, and Sky were to show them all live (for extra payment to clubs), it seems to me that we could be on a winner. Yes, clubs wouldn't have gate i...

It’s not affordable. They can’t put enough money away to make a meaningful difference. Where would it come from?

Re: People are just fecking mental!

On whether the Chinese are fiddling the figures there is a graph the FT published that shows they aren’t. It’s a graph of the rate rate of infection per-day going forward after each country has hit 100 cases. As the days pass the trajectory of the western nations are remarkably similar to each other...

Re: People are just fecking mental!

I agree with WF1895 in that compared to "Flu" COVID.19 are small numbers. Compared to "Influenza A" which hits us from time to time the COVID.19 numbers are minute. They aren’t small numbers. The death rate for over 80’s for coved-19 is 6%. For flu it’s 0.8%. In general it’s 0.1% v 2.1%. That just ...
