Re: WIRE TO PLAY WIGAN IN RATCHFORD TESTIMONIAL GAME

Why do the RFL need to grant the testimonial? What would the difference be if they didn’t? Does it just make it official / recognised ? My guess is that it would count on the salary cap if they didn't. Also there are differnet rules around player testimonials from a HMRC perspective so may need to ...

Re: Mago and Cust?

I've just checked and vaccinated people are still free to leave Australia so covid shouldn't be a problem unless things change again. Does the club book the flights or is it left up to the players? If it's the club, somebody should know when they're due to arrive. Obviously things may be complicate...

Re: Channel 4 to broadcast SL

beat me to it Josie :). Was just reading about it and about to post :) good news and what many of us have been crying out for, for a long time. Whilst it doesnt go into the financial details within the article, any exposure on free to air TV (Saturday dinner) can only be good for the game and hopefu...

Re: Castleford Tigers’ new stadium dream appears over

Absolute joke and making a mockery out of the whole game The problem is now, that this should have been resolved many years ago for both Cas and Wakey. They keep rolling out the same BS, that we are getting our lovely new ground, and then do f all about it I have no doubt that this is all bluster to...

Re: Jai Field.

Fair point, Hastings is certainly an "individual" and had very strong ties with Salford - maybe the root of his unhappiness. We didn't see much of Field but he looked totally out of sorts in his last match for us and didn't seem focussed? He looked totally out of sorts & out of place ...

Re: Jai Field fitness update as Wigan Warriors pre-season return date confirmed

Surely this would be covered if Tommy retired which has been banded about. Field/Smith/Tommy/new half seems a bit to much. This isn't me doubting anything I'm staying out of that mudhole, just doesn't make logical sense to me to carry 4 halves. I agree pal, it doesn't make sense, but what does with...

Re: hankinson gone

Bradford Bulls returning to SL via this potential new structure as opposed to promotion is a bold statement indeed! I would hope the RFL would scrutinise their application something rotten! One advantage Wakefield have is although they haven't lifted silverware and do circle around the relegation z...

Re: League v Union rivalry

The thread prompted me to have a look into what the RU salary cap is and to my surprise they are reducing it for 2021/22 to £5m down from £6.4m. It's supposed to be temporary but they were trying to reduce pre-covid as over the 2018 to 2020 seasons (I think) the clubs collectively lost £89m !!! :o ...
