Didn't Heinz sponsor the Latics for a while pre Whelan's vanity project?

Looks like Danson wants to further forge links between both clubs and the people of Wigan so naming the stadium after a local charity for a couple of years while trying to bring in a new high profile sponsor may hopefully unite fans of both clubs once mentions of Whelan have gone.

I heard a rumour last night that the ticket office manager was shown the door 3 weeks ago for the fiasco.

Saints had a similar issue a few years back if I remember rightly.

Match venues are usually at one of the local amateur clubs and are usually announced the week of the match.
