Re: Overworked?

<t>Surely when the franchise system comes into force in 2009 (if im not mistaken) then we will have a 14 team superleague with each team playing each other home and away once. that would be 26 games a season which would be two less then last season and one less than this?<br/> <br/> the challenge cu...

Spoilt?

<r>I've just been to watch loughborough students play bradford victoria in the BARLA cup- fixture was switched due to Vic's ground being underwater.<br/> <br/> I know this is obviously amatuer rugby but the level of skill on show was a bit shocking at time- i found certain events hilarious, includin...

Re: STAINS shirt

<t>i know were not meant to applaud saints for anything but i must say i really like both kits except the collar which looks a bit dodgy and the 5 star idea. i think our new home kit is absolutely pants and refuse to waste £40 on it.<br/> <br/> with all daves money i would have thought he would be ...

Re: Competitive Scrum?

<t>thanks gimble...you answered that argument for me. :eusa2: <br/> <br/> i understand the argument of not slowing the game down which is understandable but it just seems like a competitive aspect of the game has been lost. i do agree though that more should be made of the play direct from the scrum...

Re: Competitive Scrum?

<t>collapsing of scrums very rarely occurs after the engage- its the impact of the engage and a lack suitable binding that results in a collapse. once the scrum is engaged and set its very rare anything goes wrong.<br/> <br/> if two packs are of a similar level in terms of age, then there is no issu...

Re: Competitive Scrum?

<t>I dont think its the actual 'competitive' element of the scrum they're talking about removing in rugby union, but reducing the impact element at the 'engage'.<br/> <br/> I play rugby union- front row- and i enjoy the competitive element of the scrum- im quite light for a prop at 15 stones and hav...

Re: BBC Sports Personality...

<r>i didnt care who won the individual award- some of the nominations were a joke- panasar is only starting his career and cant even get in the england team at present, and hatton has not reached his peak yet. i thought it should have been calzaghe or taylor as taylor is the best in his field by a c...

<r>could we not swap bits of leg pieces between carney and raders and then get one whole player perhaps?<br/> <br/> i hope its just a social visit...we have bigger issues in other positions and could spend his wages far more wisely.<br/> <br/> Also, i was reading this week about how steve turner is ...

Re: monty betham

looks like this boxing bug is catching- solomon haumono has quit his contract at quins to go back to boxing according to the beeb.

think these two incidents hints at the shortage of cash in rugby league sadly :(
