Re: Watersplash final on BBC2

I watched highlights of the 1978 Leeds v Saints final on BBC at the weekend. Defences were clearly not as well drilled, but some superb attacking moves - all the better for being off-the-cuff.

Makes me wonder if we should cut down to 12 a side?

Re: Leeds Rhinos chief wants no complaints if players face three games a week

Does anybody know what the point of playing 3 games a week would be? It can't be Sky, as even supposing they want to show games every night, that wouldn't mean 3 games a week for anybody - actually 1 game per team every 6 days would do it. I doubt if it would pay off in terms of crowds. If we had 3 ...

Re: Is everyone ok?

We got home yesterday. Got into Gatwick Saturday on one of last easyJet flights. Relief to be home after 4 flight cancellations; sad we can't see kids & grandkids except from the end of their front gardens as they look through the window; and, having been shopping today, we feel much less safe here ...

Re: Rugby league player swapping the front row for frontline of coronavirus battle

Good luck to the lad! Times like this put life in a true perspective. "Essential workers", often undervalued or taken for granted, and certainly underpaid, start to get the recognition they deserve. Contrast with Prince Charles, or even George Burgess talking about pay cuts. Film stars? TV personali...

Re: Bevan French back in Australia, Jackson Hastings staying here... for now

Can we send George Burgess to Aus to be with his family? Maybe he could decide to stay?

Re: Super League's crunch meeting: playing behind closed doors 'an option'

When the situation you're in changes radically, there are always more reasons against proposed ways forward than there are for them. So it is now. Yes, a big part of Sky's audience is normally at the pub - but note the word "normally". Are these "normal" circumstances? What? The alternative to havin...
