Re: Saints squad

If we need someone to blame for the fixtures, I think it's more accurate to blame Covid. The clubs accepted that they may have to play 3 fixtures in a week or so, but had little choice when survival is at stake, not just for individual clubs but the professional game. In the long run, it matters les...

Re: saints game

On average, we've won the cup once every six years since it started. Considering we first won it in 1924 (the 24th final by my reckoning, as it was suspended during WWI), that means we've won our 19 cups out of the last 90 finals, excluding WWII finals, which is better than 1 every 5 years from our ...

Re: ISA

I've no idea why this guy doesn't get singled out for praise more on here. In my opinion he is a rock solid, very consistent player who would be one of the first on my team sheets. Last night again, he put a shift in. Because he isnt the best in his position so keyboard warriors say that means hes ...

Re: 21-man squad vs Wakefield

Bibby had a good game in defence, arguably saving 2 tries (one where his centre was skinned in the defensive line). On attack, his centre just about never passed him the ball, though he did make 85 metres, mostly driving out from our own half. His value is that he can fill in at centre or wing, thou...

Re: Adrian Lam happy to be "on edge" over Wigan Warriors future

I, for one, hope his contract is renewed. It takes a while to judge a coach but the positive signs are starting to show. Players like Harry Smith and Joe Shorrocks being given a chance; fitting French in a role where he can shine; Powell's improvement; signs of a better kicking game etc. Ok, we had ...

Re: Lam previews Trinity

I thought they might bring kick off forward to 8pm or even 745pm.

With pubs closing at 10pm, and a good chunk of Sky's income coming from pubs, kicking out time could easily come before the match ends.

Re: Cup match

It's unlikely/unrealistic to field completely different teams in the 2 games. So it becomes a question of who plays in both, who plays either/or, and which is the priority. Some who'll be expected to play in both could perhaps be rested for the Wakefield match, especially anyone carrying a knock. It...
