Re: Wigan Warriors reported to have biggest ‘salary spend’ of 2024 Super League season

Do we know who our marquee players are? Thompson and Bevan I think You imagine Wigan utilize all three exemptions so would also utilize the club trained one. I imagine the top paid player from our academy system will be classed as Marquee I used Smith in the example. It was widely reported that Wig...

Re: Wigan Warriors reported to have biggest ‘salary spend’ of 2024 Super League season

I know it's a daft question but can someone explain how these figures of £2.7 million to £3 million match the salary cap. Will we see roncosthe only surviving club after the points deductions???? Think caps 2.1 without certain dispensations for club trained players at each end of their playing care...

Re: How can we improve for next year?

Looks like Wigan want to emulate that Leeds team who just seemed to be the same each year. Problem is or the worry is if form drops and we are stuck… should always be looking to compete for places and having that incentive to do better. Although I’d gladly have a 7 year contract and sit on the benc...

Re: How can we improve for next year?

I think another back row option or even two maybe. Starting in the backs Eckersley, Douglas, Farimond give good cover and as a team and individually as players you would hope they kick on to claim a starting shirts at a point. We are also lucky to have other cover in Bevan and Keighran so don't see ...

Re: New Deal for Jake Wardle

Rumour was they clashed over his form/position. Watson wanted him to play right edge, Wardle blamed his performances on being normally left sided. Think both thought the other was being awkward and sure I read they had words and that was the end for Wardle as Watson needed to make a dressing room st...

Re: Injuries

Coopers was six week the worse outcome could have been four to five months. Was said in an interview that Havards back running with the team, they won't be risking him early until 100% sure he's good as can be. Walters was around 8 weeks so he should be back shortly Penrith game, 6 rounds of SL and ...

Re: Wigan squad for London (R4)

Thought the performance was ok. London's line defense was very weak, we could just bash through. Our defense was not good and I bet the coaching staff were not happy about that. Farrimond seemed to overplay an awful lot. Going for big passes to noone and kicking through without anyone knowing the p...

Re: Game Sold Out?

Our seat frames on part of our row broke two years back just corrosion looking at them, part of the frame is joined to surrounding seats next game they had been replaced but with worn seats and frames still showing signs of similar corrosion not new ones. I imagine old seats are now in corners of gr...

Re: Patrick Mago: Off-field improvements impacting on-field performances for Wigan Warriors prop

I think we are always as fans a little frustrated by certain players, it's plain to see how talented they are but they need something or someone to unlock that. Jason Robinson was dropped at one point his life was in turmoil and then he found Inga and his beliefs and well the rests history. While I ...
