Re: SMITH SIGNS FOR WIGAN!!!

<t>Wigan are obviously moving forward in the right direction.

We have now, for the first time in years got some strength in depth for positions:

Mathers loses form - richards plays at FB.
Goulding loses form Bailey/Phelps at Centre.
Calderwood - Pat/Colbon
Carmon...

Re: BARRETT SIGNS WITH SHARKS

<t>It's been a pleasure having someone of Trents quality in the Wigan team.

I'd rather he was here for 2 years than not at all.

From what I've seen and heard others say of him he's a very genuine bloke and I believe he definately would have stayed but for family circumstances ...

Re: Sam Tomkins

I would put sam on the bench, when Higham comes off put tommy at 9 and move sam to 7.

We need a back-up hooker, I'm not sure if Coyle is the answer, putting tommy there we have a 9 who can pass, kick and tackle like a demon around marker.

Re: Fielden last night

<t>The best available at a time of desperation!

That is very different to being 'the best'.

So we overpaid for him - as we have done with quite a few players, e.g. if rumour is to believed Higham.

You could debate whether he is proving value for money compared to sa...

Re: Tommy L owning Mary

<t>Wigan didn't have the ball in the first 30 minutes.

What do people expect players like Trent and Tommy to do in attack wihout the ball??????

If the ref had given wigan as much leeway as he gave saints regarding offsides then we would have been talking about a much different...

Re: What a joke?

<t>The biggest joke was the standard of refereeing.

At the moment it seems to be pot luck when the ref decides to start penalising for offside and when he stops.

On good friday he couldn't see a Saints player offside in the first half but he saw every wigan offence.

...

Re: Noble comments on referees...

<t>And after the Wigan-Saints game I'd say Noble was proven correct.

The ref ruined the game as a contest in the first 30mins.

You can't play against a half decent saints team without the ball and expect to be in the game. The ref gave saints field position and possession witho...

<t>Prescott is a totally different forward to last year.

He makes a very positive contribution when he comes on, rather than last year when he was ineffective driving it forward, would usually make a couple of handling errors and miss tackles.

Together with Bailey in the 2nd ro...

Re: Optimistic

<t>Lockers is a pretty important part of the team for us - his work in defence often goes unnoticed. I think that's why Noble wanted him in the team.

On the whole we are in a far better position at this stage of the season than the last one, both in terms of points and players.
<br...
