Re: Rohan Smith's Leeds Rhinos future unclear as player pressure ramps up

It looks like Gary Heatherington is stepping down, or up to boardroom level 1, so that leaves the field open for Sinfield and uncle Tony. G H is definitely moving up though so there is a poison chalice of a job for someone there.

Hey Meds, I'm certain he took British Nationality several years ago, but you're right, it's time to call it quits.

Re: Excuse me Mr Rooney!

You know, Morley, you are so right. I'm nigh on 85 and lived every minute in Billinge On the rare occasion I meet my old Billinger mates in the pub, we always use the dialect. It's concerning to know that people listening to us don't understand a word and they invariably are 50 or more years old and...

Good entertainment in't Riverside, especially after a home win.
He'll be sadly missed.
(I seem to recall that Neil Cowie is his son in law).

Re: Oliver gildart

At least, when and if he does come back to Leigh or some other club, he'll be one of a few who didn't come back injured. Of the top of my head I can think of John Bateman, Sam Tomkins, Lee Mossop, Dan Sarginson, Joe Burgess, Denis Betts and Tommy Leului. All came back needing long term treatment. Th...

Total Rugby League, today, saying that Lammy wants him at Leigh. He's not getting any game-time in down under and he probably is looking for a way back home now.

Re: Memorable Derby games

Boxing day, around the late 50's, freezing cold and sleet blowingacross the pitch. Eric Ashton kicked four penalties for an 8 to nil win. I remember that Ashton was in bed with flu and the club sent a car for him.

Betts isn’t there anymore

I didn't know that.
I always thought of him as the best second row forward Wigan have had since Bill Ashurst.
