That's because the rule has been trialed at academy level about six weeks ago. And of course the likes of Boston, McTigue, Bolton etc didn't have the training, diet regimes etc of the current players.

The moving of fixtures due to football is hardly a problem in reality, I think it's only happened twice in twenty-two years.

Things have changed already, the academy played on the DW on Friday, the 1st team have trained on the DW.
As I posted a couple of weeks back I expect there will be many more changes by the time next season comes around.

Didn’t see that one coming. It’s not that long ago I am sure I read he was on about his successor being his son and the club remaining under the ownership of the Lenagan family. Did know about this as did a few others on here. Think it became more apparent when Mr Danson bought the DW & latics ...
