Re: Wigan Warriors ace George Williams facing new competition for a Great Britain spot

If I was a good coach I would not pick George Williams, I wouldn’t even put him in the squad, He is shockingly bad. Brilliant !! So shockingly bad Wayne Bennett had him at 6 with England beating the Kiwis, who themselves had 2 All Star NRL halves. I think actually, I'll possibly go with the coaches...

Re: Can we finish in the Top 5?

It's the here and now Dave, players/coaches have been going over just the last season or so. And you name current talent being targeted. And stories persist of Makinson, Johnson, Thompson, Hastings, Burgess, Lomax, Fages, Williams, McGilvary, and more being recruited. wouldn't surprise me if Smithie...

Re: Can we finish in the Top 5?

I suppose this is what the powers that be want an open competition but let’s be fair Wigan’s form and performance all season it’d be a travesty if they made the top 5 let alone win the GF Would it be a travesty if Cas Make the top 5 having so far won one more game than Wigan,or even Catalan both sh...

Re: Wigan Warriors' Dan Sarginson set for move to Super League rivals

For what it's worth, Escare was outstanding for us in the end of season play-offs and run in to the Grand Final, when we won our last dozen or so matches, in virtual knock out scenarios. it wasn't just his switching with Sam either, because Sam was out injured for a number of those matches. He's not...

Re: Hankinson

Comparing him to frano after one game jeez no pressure. For the avoidance of doubt I am NOT comparing him to Frano. I am making two points: 1. The precedent has been set for a goalkicker to be included in the team where he perhaps otherwise would not have been picked. 2. IF his goalkicking is anywh...

Re: Salford secure Sarginson and Atkin

League Weekly have revealed Wigan centre Dan Sarginson and Hull KR half-back Chris Atkin have signed for Salford next season. Both are off-contract with the latter a possible replacement for the outgoing Jackson Hastings. Despite the impressive acquisitions, they won’t be announced by the Red Devil...

Re: Hankinson

The criticism of Rads/the club for "shopping at poundland" are understandable (though they do contradict those who complained that the likes of Saints and Wire could sign Walmesley and Hill from lower divisions). We've also had regular moans about the need for a decent centre to replace Sarge, and ...

Re: Fullback?

If Hardaker is unfit, I'd go with Escare at FB with Sarge in his usual position. Plenty of space at Headingley for Escare to use his speed and evasion, need to be able to break the Leeds D which was improved on Friday night. If Escare doesn't play, there's obviously something going on between him an...

Re: Firestarter
Yeah, dead right Fire, it was actually Salford that got that result at the HJ !
And Warrington did lose at home to Hull quite recently.
