Re: Wigan squad for Hull KR (R9)

Re Keighran, it took quite a long time for Toby King to come good last season, so I'd be disinclined to consider leaving him out but I hope he will curb that habit of jumping out of the line. I suspect he will always be more of an attacking centre than a defensive one. Field still doesn't look right...

Re: Wigan squad for Hull KR (R9)

I believe the new kit to be trialled will be sackcloth and ashes. Despite the sluggish display (could there be a virus in the camp? everyone seemed affected) there was the odd positive. At about the 55 minute mark, it became clear that HKR's pack were completely blown and the backs were having to do...

Re: Referee for Friday!

Looks like someone had a word with Mr V. It took 65 minutes for the first penalty for markers not standing square and it turned out to be the only one. Otherwise the match sort of ran itself with a lot of laying on, which is irritating, random 'six-agains' and his curious obsession with resetting sc...

Re: Squad v Castleford

Agree with pretty much everything that has been said. Leeming was curiously anonymous but demonstrated just how good and valuable Brad O'Neill is. Mrs SS remarked that Jai Field would have caught Senior for Cas's first try, not just because of his speed but Field tends to be be better positioned at ...

Re: Referee for Friday!

It's looking horribly like the more supporters of all teams complain, the RFL decide that they know best and determine to appoint him again and again. Surely some kind of RFL assessor must be putting in reports or is the referee always right whatever series of cock-ups he makes. Maybe it's time to g...

Re: Squad for Leigh

Thought everyone played well. Only minor quibbles is that Leeming is excellent in attack - less so in defence. Keighran still leaps out of the line with mixed results and Chan, who I assume was keen to impress, needs to tighten up his discipline . If it was a straight choice between Hill and Byrne, ...

Re: Referee for Thursday

Sadly, it came to pass. The only word to describe him (printable) is random. An early penalty for markers not standing square and then he forgot about it for most of the game. He did get Mago not playing the ball correctly right. Faz as a dummy runner collides (or is collided with) and it's a penalt...

You really needed to post a link to that 😊
According to BBC (not necessarily true then!) - appeal was refused but no further punishment.

Re: Referee for Thursday

He refereed Warrington v Cats last week and gave the worst reffing display of the season. Cats scored 3 tries at the start and Smith then decided to even things up and brought Warrington back into the match by half-time. As the second half began, Micky Mac took it on himself to query every decision ...

Re: Derby Day!

Scruffy match where, I'm assuming, neither side wanted to lose and it was a bit of a stalemate. Field saved us a try and cost us a try - French created a try out of nothing but let Walsmsley make his crucial run. I didn't think the game was reffed that badly - both sides were to blame for the mess a...
