Personally, I doubt the luck element of that CP.thegimble wrote:I hammered him when Sam was let go early on his contract but we now get him back for at least 4 seasons. Seems the risk worked out very well.

<t>He has and still does take some bashing on here, yes it's rare he sticks his hand deep into the depths of his pockets but to bring back Mossop, J Tomkins, S Tomkins is a credit to him.<br/> I have no doubt all three players had very good offers elsewhere but to get them all back in a close timesc...

Re: I never thought I would say this
Just on this, I've posted regarding the cap and the possibility/effects of letting Josh go.
I again reiterate that I'm not been negative, just looking at our current wing spots, for the money I assume he's on, I can't see a place on current form.

Re: George Williams gets better and better
Very good game tonight. Linked with Smith very well, who likewise had a decent game.
With Sam coming back, it certainly does give Wane a very nice headache for next year, because although he dropped a couple tonight, im a massive fan of Rocky.

Utilising the cap to the best of our ability..
<t>Firstly, this is not a negative, just something I've thought for a few weeks now and confirmed it to myself after tonight's performance. <br/> Secondly a great performance from the boys, I enjoyed it.<br/> <br/> Utilising the salary cap and making the squad the best it can be under these restrict...

Tomkins....
No, not Sam!
Huge game from the big man Joel tonight. World class performance running down the right hand side benefited Gellings man of the match performance.
J.Tomkins was my personal MOM, closely followed by Gelling.
Beautiful stuff boys!

Re: Gelling - Genius or Madman
Proved my comments midweek wrong tonight. Just wish he could be more consistent. The pass he should have played Manfredi in is evidence of that.
Well played tonight Anthony, great game.

If Wigan RL is about excellence then scrap Gelling, Bowen, Clubb, Patrick, tautuai. Those names come before Smith when we are talking about average and not been up to the Wigan standard
