Re: Mago to Wakefield/Featherstone??

Whichever way we look at it, saints have won the last four GF's and such domination by our biggest rivals isn't acceptable. We seem to spend most off seasons hoping that they won't be as good next season instead of making certain that we're better. We shouldn't be settling for a squad that matches t...

Re: Owen Farrell

Owen would make a great coach when he retires from playing if he decides that's what he's like to do. I like the idea of him switching back to league for his coaching career. Unlikely but more likely than him ever playing league again.

Re: Happy Birthday

Southern softy - I was there for the Henry Paul drop out try and I'm sure it was a young Faz that took the drop out. I'm sure we'll never see that kind of thing again. It was one of those incidents where you can't believe what you've seen and look around for the replay which of course we didn't have...

Best of luck to him. It always bothers me to see Sale making progress. I don't like the idea of union becoming any stronger in an area where league should dominate. Perhaps they can do a deal with Salford FC too so long as the rugby club own the stadium.

Re: new prop

Nathan, I'd love to see him do well but I saw him in a couple of games and felt that he was well behind some of our younger props. Also heard rumours (only) that the club were thinking of letting him go. Having said that, given his background and relative late start in RL perhaps he deserves more ti...

Re: new prop

Lucky 13, I like your positivity but I'm slightly more cynical in nature and would look at the squad like this - you counted Bateman and he's going to leave. You're also hopeful that Hanley and Silva will develop and I'm confident that they won't. If I'm correct, we'll struggle as soon as we start p...

Re: new prop

I thought this thread was about a new prop? Now that the gossip suggests we're keeping Mago despite Wakefield wanting him, does anybody have news about any further developments?

Re: new prop

The fact that people are discussing the possibility of Willie Isa in the starting line up at this stage of his career emphasises how important it is that we get a replacement for Bateman. Peet didn't pick Isa in the starting team for long periods of last season and he was often omitted from the 17 w...

Re: Jackson Hastings part of big NRL swap deal with John Bateman reunion in tatters

The fact we seem to have been prepared to let Mago leave makes me think we had another prop in mind and now are perhaps looking for a backrower instead. However, letting Mago leave would have given us the chance to use the quota for whichever position we were looking at so I can't see the reasoning ...

Great result for International game?

I know that yesterday's result was dreadful for us English fans and will have a detrimental knock-on effect on the crowd/finances for the final but those running the tournament really should try to advertise any positives they can. It's an amazing achievement for a tiny island nation (population 200...
