Re: Why we will be worse off through Brexit (Question from other forum)

Go on, Wintergreen, you know what you wanted to say! Not "the Giant Credit Card" at all, was it? You mean "The Magic Money Tree" . . . go on, admit it! The problem is, just after May, or more likely her scriptwriters, came up with the attempted joke at Labour's expense, she managed to find a billio...

Re: Why we will be worse off through Brexit (Question from other forum)

Oh my God, not another Tory trying to blame the then Labour government for the global crash. It would not have mattered who was in power at the time, the 2008 crash would have wrecked the economy. The point I was making re the debt was the fact it increased so much on the Tories watch represents a ...

Re: Why we will be worse off through Brexit (Question from other forum)

Boris Johnson's government that has such luminaries as the inappropriately named James Cleverly in it? This moron suggested today in response to Diane Abbott saying information sharing for police and intelligence would cease on 31st October with a hard Brexit by saying the EU is pragmatic so it won...

This moron suggested today in response to Diane Abbott saying information sharing for police and intelligence would cease on...

Re: Bevan French can take Super League by storm, says Wigan Warriors coach

I have to say he looks amazing ball in hand.

You just feel that give him half a chance and he will be away (and no-one will catch him)

Last Wigan player I thought that about was Jason Robinson.

Re: Why we will be worse off through Brexit (Question from other forum)

Even if everyone in the country were millionaires, you would have poverty under this definition. I understand your (irrelevant) point. The problem is that you completely ignore mine and keep playing the same record over and over again. I'm not trying to, I promise. What IS your point? That, in your...

Re: Why we will be worse off through Brexit (Question from other forum)

"Brought up in the 70s?" "Proper hunger?" You were lucky. We were brought up in the 50s and had jam and bread with no jam! And we could only afford bread once a week...etc etc. We could compete over definitions of relative poverty and compare one era with another. The fact is that countries like Ho...

Re: Why we will be worse off through Brexit (Question from other forum)

^ Maybe, maybe not, but I still do not believe that 1 in 6 children in Wigan is going hungry. Not sure how old you are Caboosegg, but I grew up in the 70's. Compared to that time, Wigan is like candytown. The amount of benefits/handouts and general "looking after" compared to then is mind boggling....
