To be fair, even with Marshall, Burgess and possibly Manfredi out we still have Davies plus Escare, Mullen, Forsyth and Brown as potential wingers, and Gildart or Sarginson could fill in there.

Re: MoM v Huddersfield

Hamlin - Don't think he put a foot wrong, worked incredibly hard down the middle and out wide. Escare - When he came on the field he was the only player who looked remotely dangerous. Gildart - Didn't get much of an attacking opportunity but his work rate and carries were outstanding and got us out ...

Re: Wigan v Hudds

i disagree, we know what alot of these players can do. its the coach's responsibility to get them playing and to motivate them when the going is tough. look at Man United and the difference sacking Marino has made to the same group of players. It's a reasonable point but Mourinho didn't take over t...

Re: Wigan v Hudds

Have to wonder whether Lam has come in with grand ideas and tried to change too much too soon. Can anyone remember a coach that has joined a club specifically promising a great brand of rugby who was actually successful? It's always seems to be a risky claim to make. However, as much as you could lo...

Re: Dom Manfredi among FIVE players set to return for Wigan Warriors' clash with Huddersfield Giants

With those players returning, and with Sarge a doubt, I'd go for this side to face Huddersfield. Hardaker Manfredi, Hankinson, Gildart, Davies Sammut, Williams Flower, Powell, Clubb Paisley, O'Loughlin, Greenwood Leuluai, Bullock, Hamlin, Navarrete However, I'm guessing Davies may miss out for Marsh...

Re: Let’s Start A Proper Debate

Signing Hardaker seemed like a case of jumping at a 'star player' because he was available and presumably cheaper than Tomkins. The concern was always going to be losing Tomkins who was one of our key playmakers and replacing him with Hardaker who definitely isn't a playmaker from what I've seen whi...

Re: London game

And it backfired pretty much every time then as well. The point here is though we already had a weakened side and Lam chose to make it even weaker in the area we had injuries. Idiotic. In any case this idea it’s risking players on plastic is bollocks in my view. I have never agreed with it. If it’s...

Re: London game

When you throw in the likes of Clubb, Navarrete, Tautai and Isa starting the season in poor form but not having to really fight for their place in the side it's all a bit reminiscent of our terrible period in 2017. You need a top pack to be a top side and we're looking very weak in that department....

Re: London game

Probably worth bearing in mind that today we had Manfredi, Burgess/Marshall, Flower, Greenwood, Hamlin and Farrell missing from our strongest side and Sarginson went off injured in the first half meaning Isa moved out of the already weakened second row. We still had a side out strong enough to beat ...

Re: Recruitment... why did we get Hankinson?

Hankinson looked decent when he got the chance last year before injury but he's behind an England international centre and Sarginson who was outstanding against the Roosters and wasn't too bad against Hull. Sarge can't be dropped as he's our best centre on current form while Gildart has earned his r...
