Re: Squad for Leigh

Most of kings runs came on out sets where he took hitups. Keighran doesn't do many of those. However, I don't think you get away with that unless it's a coaching decision. For example Sam and jai didn't/don't take hit ups, although other fullbacks may do. The coaching team were/are happy with this ...

Re: Squad for Leigh

Looks like Keighran is the new whipping boy. The lads done nothing wrong so far. Ok he’s not setting the world on fire. But give the lad a chance. Not long ago everybody said the same about King, why did we sign him but turned out to be a good signing. One thing for sure he is a more reliable goal ...

Re: Squad for Leigh

I thought it was a decent performance, and really good for some of the fringe forwards to get a game and stake their claim. I think Sky's man of the match award went to Junior Nsemba but I think that was a bit generous. Smith and French dominated the game off the back of some good work from our midd...

Re: Disciplinary

It's a higher grading than I thought for Byrne, but having watched it back I think it's fair. I initially thought Percvial dipped just before contact but he's actually dipped well before contact. All Byrne had to do was bend his back going into the tackle. There's plenty of time for him to anticipa...

Re: Options v Leigh

Peet said Havard was back on the field training with the team in the build up to Sheffield, so I don’t think he’ll be long but presuming he’s not ready for Thursday and Byrne/Dupree get banned, we still have some good options. I’d probably go along the lines of- Field Miski Keighran Wardle Marshall...

Re: Derby Day!

To be honest I expected us to lose yesterday but I thought Saints would offer a little bit more than they did. We've not exactly been playing well since the WCC and that's probably to be expected. The WCC always throws a spanner in the works when it comes to pacing yourself through a season. I thoug...

Re: The Wigan Way - New Podcast - Phil Clarke special

You don’t want the people at the club to get involved at all. They are young people who only know about social media & having their phones stuck in their hand 24/7! Bloody hell! they can’t keep the main official site updated! Please don’t let them near this site🙏🏼 Why do so many topics turn int...

Re: Shorrocks leaves the club

I rate Shorrocks but he really needed to make this year the one where he became a first team regular and just couldn't manage it. He's turning 24 this month and at that age you need to be playing regularly in Super League if you're going to reach your potential. 13 is clearly his best position and w...

Re: Morgan Smithies set for NRL move as Wigan Warriors forward heads down under

Good luck to Morgan. He's developed into a very good player and England international and it's no surprise he now wants to test himself in the best competition in the world. Despite only being 22 he's made over 100 appearances for the club so he's given us plenty during his time at the club. He's wo...
