Re: Saturday games!!
I haven’t got access to the Latics fixtures. However their season ends approximately in May and begins end of August. That would limit the amount of free Saturdays . Latics are probably more committed to Saturdays to comply with other football clubs.

Re: Saturday games!!
Yes Mike we did. When games were first played on a Sunday you weren’t allowed to pay for the game. You bought a team sheet instead. I still have some. Wigan’s first Sunday afternoon game was away at Salford in the Lancashire Cup in 1968. It poured down.

Re: Saturday games!!
In no way am I wishing for the past but a 3 pm Saturday KO for all teams would suit me. Admittedly things are very much different today with SKY. Latics seem to have the majority of games on Saturdays…….thereby I realise causing fixture clashes.

Re: Warriors Reveal 2024 Home & Away Kit
I’ll put my cards on the table. I much prefer the old cherry and white jersey and white shorts with no adverts. However I accept that it is needed today. Going off topic . While looking for the date in my scrap book of Wigan’s white shirts I noticed how low crowds were 60’s 70’s. A rough estimate ac...

Re: Warriors Reveal 2024 Home & Away Kit
Wintergreen. I think that you are suggesting that I maybe incorrect . It’s a long time ago and I was told that by my Dad who had watched Wigan from the 1930’s and the practice may have come from then. Wigan did occasionally play in a blue shirt in the ‘60s at home as is evidenced by old photographs....

Re: Warriors Reveal 2024 Home & Away Kit
I can remember when Wigan had 2 shirts. If their normal cherry and white clashed at home they had to change. It was considered “fair play “ to have the away team in their normal shirt. Wigan’s shirt was blue. A bit different now .

Re: Havard
I haven’t seen the replay . A Wigan player took what looked like a shoulder charge tackle . I thought that it could have been Havard. If it was this could have caused his substitution.

Re: World Club Challenge
I think we are all thinking along the same lines. I just wonder if coaches and players could do without the distraction at the start of what will be a testing season.
