For what it's worth, here is my take on the last 2 matches and the season in general. Difficult first half of the season but then we improved ending at 2nd. I was a Workington Town and Whitehaven supporter way back in the '50's and I remember Mick Sullivan forearm smashing Towns Harry Archer in the 1958 Cup Final after 10 minutes. Harry came back on, but realistically played no further part in the match. Afterwards he said he couldn't remember the match...
