Re: Why Wigan Warriors lost £1.4m last year
As a sales pitch, "the club is losing money, crowds are down, good players have left for Aus" is not the way to sell more season tickets and increase gates. It might appeal to those already committed, but the majority of the population want to do what's fashionable/popular. An invitation t...

Re: 19-man squad vs Catalans
I think 10,800 v Catalans on a Thursday is about par.
It's 100 more than the Hull KR game last month & that was on a Friday.
A week later we had 12,555 against Warrington. That was disappointing imo.

Re: Friday - 200th anniversary of Peterloo
Sounds like fun, Ian. Batley was a satellite to Horbury, though (thanks to Puma) Batley still survives. Puma was always a separate, and more successful company, with Slazengers doing their sales/distribution. Derek Ibbotson was employed by Puma, so didn't allow it to get dragged down by a collapsing...

Re: Shaun Edwards says Wigan Warriors better off with Adrian Lam - and backs them for Grand Final glory
Bit of a shoddy way of covering self if you ask me. I was over the moon when he got announced as the new Wigan coach(risky or not) as he was a Wigan legend and one of the best players I’ve seen. He will always have a legacy at the club but he has marred it significantly with how he treated the club...

Re: Friday - 200th anniversary of Peterloo
Morley A nice reminder there . Many, many! years ago I when I first joined Dunlop as a newly qualified accountant it was the custom for Dunlop to put you into the internal audit department so that you got sent around a wide variety of different companies in the group. With my cultured Wigan accent ...

Re: Play-offs
Would prefer a top three! First straight through to final, second v third for the other place. Agreed Looking at that I feel I have to wear a white lab coat it’s so complicated, the pudding as they say has been overegged I read it out four times yesterday & still couldn't get my head round it 🤪 ...

Re: Eamon McManus
What McManus's comments (and Holbrook's to a lesser extent) say to me is that Saints are likely to nosedive at some point in the play-offs. I truly believe that the John Monie approach is essential to a winning mentality/culture within a club. Monie would have said "The referee didn't knock on,...
