Re: NRL legend writes off Samoa as Mal Meninga reveals his masterplan for World Cup Final

Willie Poaching made a great point after the game on Saturday when asked about the game v Oz "there were 8 of the Samoa team played in the NRL Grand Final, so they wont be phased by playing v Oz, and that they are playing at that intensitiy week in / week out" another point made was that a...

Re: What now? England look to the future after latest Rugby League World Cup heartache

this may sound harsh, but for the next international(s) anyone who is unlikely to feature for the next world cup shouldnt be picked, and i think you could see on some of their faces after the loss yesterday that they knew. Tomkins and Whitehead especially looked absolutely gutted after the match. I ...

Re: Jackson Hastings part of big NRL swap deal with John Bateman reunion in tatters

There was a story out a couple weeks back saying the Hastings didn't get along with Bateman and would want a release if Bateman signed for Wests, guess it was right and, given the rumour mill added to over the weekend that the Wakey chairmon was offered Mago, but then deal pulled back as Bateman go...

Re: England Vs Samoa

just watched the game and the post match forum some fantastic interviews highlighting the highs and lows of sport at any level. seeing a 6ft+ 120kg man in tears as he speaks just shows how much it means to the Samoan team / country, and even Willie Poaching in summary, you could see exactly what it ...

Re: Samoa skipper Paulo cleared for World Cup Final

i think 10 mins was fair for that tackle

i think both players realised what was happening and released Burgess. nothing malicious in it and would be a harsh ban

Re: England Vs Samoa

Just hope it improves actual attendances at games with new fans converted to our great game 😊 i was going to start a separate post about the WC generally, but most has been covered in this thread Coverage has been brilliant generally - love some of the commentary teams they have used (some not so) b...

Re: Ramifications?

This is the problem new owners all think the same thing couple of mill and jobs a good and off to the golden land of the PL,then reality hits.. Especially when you’re a small club like Wigan as well. Not like Sunderland for example with a huge backing and a big pulling power. Wigan have won one hom...

Re: Interesting quote from Tomkins

I think the master of this in any sport has probably been Pep - he always has a team full of stars but they never seem to stray into disruption. [/quote] i think its a little easier when you are on over 100k per week and sat on the bench though, it softens the blow of not playing somewhat. Had a qu...

Re: Tee Ritson bids farewell to Barrow Raiders after St Helens switch as he humbly reflects on career

i think the loan move is quite a smart move by Saints i've watched him this season, and yes he's fast, but doesnt appear to have a rugby brain as such. If they put him in space he'll go, but dont think he'll be doing the donkey work or creating anything for others wouldnt be a surprise if he's back ...

Re: Great Britain legend calls out Super League salary cap as reason for competition’s decline

whilst i agree with his point in general, and i think all RL fans do he uses some poor examples

Jamie Lyon - out on his arse
Adrian Morley - made his name in Oz, and then came back to see out his career
Andrew Johns - handfull of games on big money at wire to deliver nothing
