Re: In contrast to the withdrawal of Oz & NZ - The Indomitables

Thanks, Josie. Most apt, and a great reminder of our proud history. (And not anti-Aussie at all.)

It makes me wonder if the perceived decline in support, for Wigan and across the board, is partly because younger generations are not as aware of our sport's history. 1895 and all that.

Re: Squad v Wakefield

Nothing to do with it being his turn. He should have retired last year. Adds nothing to our attack. Does the odd hit. Been a great servant but gone on too long. He is blocking the progress of Smith as he should be learning from Hastings before he goes to the nrl. TL is one of the reasons why our at...

Re: Squad v Wakefield

You can see a Tom Davies situation coming here if we resign Powell. We will lose either Oneill or Bourouh . And we will regret it in the future. Need to play both Hanley and Halsall, let’s give them a run out. TL needs to sit this one out as well and get Hastings and Smith in the halves. Based on h...

Re: No Australia or NZ at the World Cup

If I lived and worked in NZ or Aus I wouldn't think of going to the UK for anything! Aus have had 915 people die of Covid, NZ have had 26. The UK deaths from Covid is over 153,700. The whole world knows what's happened here. The worst death rate in Europe and one of the worst in the world per capit...

Re: The worst tackle in Rugby League history…

One of the worst I saw live was in the battle of Fartown: Huddersfield v Wigan in 2nd Division, 1981. A clothes line tackle on Huddersfield 2nd row, a black lad called Johnson, by either Alan Hodkinson or Eddie Bowman. The match was shown on ITV, I think it's on YouTube. Six sent off? https://youtu....

Re: Signings

Which begs another question from me which is with our academy production line and given we had Manfredi, Davies, Burgess and Marshall how come we ended up needing to sign a championship level 26 year old winger? So at a time when the club is already being criticised for piling too much on the shoul...

Re: The 'tricky part' of Jai Field's Wigan Warriors return

Good news! As a founder member of the happy clapper club, I'm looking forward to us having a much stronger squad to choose from by 20th August. That's when our tough run of fixtures begins with the Derby match. Bring it on! (And me being the chairperson & original rose tinted glasses wearer) 😉😉...

Re: The 'tricky part' of Jai Field's Wigan Warriors return

On the face of it, I can see what you're all saying. Now I know nowt re Lam's intentions or Bevan's frame of mind, but it just might be possible that Lam is deliberately trying to provoke a reaction from French: "What? He's better than me, is he? I'll show you...." The Alex Ferguson school...

Re: Signings

Sorry Dave but I can't see where there implying anything. Just who he as played for and only says similar player to dom no mention of Richards. Unless I am reading it wrong only telling truths I personally can only see positives in all 3 signings only downer for me is the thornley for gildart one t...
