Re: Bennett's wishes granted
<r>Austin is a talent but still a work in progress. Hodkinson is deeply ordinary (decent goal-kicker, though).<br/> <br/> I would be mightily unimpressed with an England team full of NRL players."More than half"? Even Sam B hardly merits automatic inclusion on this season's form. And I can't imagine...

Re: Huge gave v Hull
Just on travelling; I left home at 10.15 am on Friday and arrived in Wigan abut 6.30.
I'll be at Donny too, but if we play like that we'll get another hammering.

Re: Derby Squad
I watched Joe Burgess for the Bunnies last night. Didn't hardly get a pass all night, virtually his only involvement was to defend, defend, defend (with varying degrees of success).
I'll bet he wishes he was still at Wigan!

Re: Refereeing
<r>People talk a lot about "the speed of the modern game". Well I watched an archive game on Wigan TV yesterday, Wigan v Saints 1998 from the Andy Farrell era. Modern SL (and most NRL) looks so pedestrian by comparison! The game was 'a thrill a minute' in those days; we've lost so much.<br/> <br/> S...

Re: Team for tonight
Last Wigan/Saints game I went to I saw a young 'Romeo and Juliet' couple, she in a Saints shirt, he in a Wigan one, holding hands. They couldn't have been more than 15-16. I thought it was so sweet!

Re: Team for tonight
It's more fans I dislike than actual players; (almost) anyone who plays our tough sport deserves some respect, I think. And Cas seem top of the league there. There's an ugliness about the attitude and atmosphere from their fans which I don't see with Leeds, Wire, or Saints fans, for example.

Re: Team for tonight
<r>Not a bad result on the face of it against a pretty much full-strength Leeds side. And it showed in the first half when Leeds started to play more like we expect from them. But as noted upthread, I was amazed at their poor fitness. They were hanging on for dear life at the end as we pressed for t...
