Re: The new 2012 Season
<r>"League Express" paper today predicts both Wolves & Leeds would struggle badly with ageing squads catching up on them, esp. in Leeds' case.<br/> <br/> They predict us to come 2nd. and Sts to come top.<br/> They also say both us & Sts will be in the Grand Final BUT they will win it this ti...

Re: Magic Weekend 2012
<t>I dont think the RFL can have blame attached to them for organising the fixtures to give our rivals any sort of edge on us.<br/> <br/> I would say, after Edinburgh & Cardiff, they just want to have as many bums on seats to get good attendances for the weekend - nothing wrong with that. And ob...

Re: Season 2012
<t>Yeah, Stormfan, got colder still here & minus 5 and -6 forecast all week, so hope our pitch will be ok for the match on Sunday and not frozen off, 'cos the latics at home the previous day, and the frost could get into the ground causing it to get rutted.<br/> <br/> But the major concern, as y...

Re: Odsal sold to the RFL
<t>I understand a private contractor was about to move in & buy Odsal from Bradford Council (who own the ground, anyway) and then use it for their own development e.g. housing, etc.<br/> <br/> This would have meant nowhere for them to play, except move in with their soccer neighbours, and not a ...

Re: Salford Friendly Tickets On Sale
<t>The gate takings from Lockers Testimonial were split THREE ways between local Wigan Charities, all with roots in this immediate area, and which he himself has nominated, during his year of fund raising events.<br/> <br/> So in context, don't think "ripped off" is the right expression.<br/> <br/> A...

<t>Great news on the improvement of his health. He's done miraculous apparently, to get over this stage of his critical illness.<br/> <br/> Not felt sorry for himself - been proactive with his charity, raising thousands, mostly involving his own participation in marathons, cycling across the country...

Re: New Players Union (1eagu3)
<t>My understanding is this is a new players union just formed, and is a "breakaway" from the gmb.<br/> <br/> Think Jamie Peacock is the President who says they want a more pro-active role in all the affairs of super league, including players welfare, career progression, salary cap issues, and even ...

Re: v Hull KR
Didn't go today and so not sure how the performance was, but considering a virtually untried, youthful side, then an excellent result at a difficult place to visit, especially as Rovers fielded a virtual first choice selection.
A good and promising start.
