Re: Options v Leigh

Just catching up with the weekend's other games and I'd say its a good time to play Leigh (and I'm sure they'd say the same about us).

They are really missing their injured lads and I think we'll be missing a few as well.

So. Havard is a long shot but may on the bench or is it just too soon?

Hill and Nsemba to play seems logical, who else is in the frame?
Do you mean in the 17 or to play?
I see what you did there

Re: Consistency of officiating

https://ibb.co/BCJKSxL Can anyone explain why Lees going into the tackle upright and with no attempt to wrap the arms is ok but Byrne doing it isn't? Couldn't get that to play for some reason, but was there head contact? If there was, the Wigan player would be advised to stay down for a few seconds...

Yeh, at least Byrne was trying to wrap his arms around the player. Lees made no attempt at all on Thompson. IIRC a similar incident happened in the L...

Re: Derby Day!

Playing Saints with a team of 16 players was certainly a daft thing to do. He didn’t use the bench very well at all as Mago and Leeming didn’t get may minutes either it seemed. So hopefully when he mentions we will learn from the game he’s also referring to his own game management. As to Byrne I th...

Re: Derby Day!

Poor execution on the day, again poor decisions.

Did we have an unused sub as well, along with short minutes from Mago?

Field is not using his speed at FB when returning his kicks.

Hope this is the wake up we need and we kick on from here.

Re: Bill Francis

I didn't work for Gullicks, but for Clarington Coach & Haulage Company, owned by Norman Bibby and run by his 2 sons (one was Harold, can't remember the name of the other.) CC&H were based at the old BRS depot on Wigan Road in Hindley. We delivered Gullick Dobson's chocks etc to pits around ...

Re: Bill Francis

Was Bill at Gullick Dobson when you were MPE? By the way, he got a terrific send off irrespective of the Club's failure to attend. Many former players attended, including the great Billy B, Phil and Andy Clarke were coffin bearers, and his daughter gave a fitting eulogy. I didn't work for Gullicks,...
