Re: Squad for Leigh

Re the debate about Liam Farrell I have thought that for the last 2 seasons that he seems to find or seek contact more than he has in previous seasons perhaps the it may be the way that the team is coached he certainly doesn’t find the gaps that he used to or may be that he has lost a little of his...

Re: Options v Leigh

Brilliant to hear that Havard is nearly fit. He is a terrific player. We should be able to make sure his hamstring issues don’t recur with the right training/treatment/physio. He’s a prop not a winger. Looking forward to seeing Walters start his career for us, and like what I have seen from Nsemba. ...

Re: Derby Day!

I was annoyed but not particularly concerned. We are a really good team, and have a great squad. I think Walters and a fully fit Nsemba will make a huge difference to our attack, as we will then be able to hit teams from anywhere. From what I have seen so far, with Catalans weaker, we are the best s...

Re: New Deal for Jake Wardle

Gone to the NRL in a year then? There doesn’t seem to have been any talk about him “wanting to test himself in the NRL one day” you see from many players so hopefully he’s going to be like Lockers and is happy to play for Wigan for the duration of his contract. Best centre we have had for years pro...

Re: Wigan to face Tigers in Cup Quarter Final

Famous last words, but I think there are at least 5 tougher opponents out of the 7 in the draw. But, of course, in the Cup, there is no room for an off day.

I was listening to “I’m only happy when it rains” the other day.

Re: Wigan squad for Sheffield

Incidentally, that “flare/flair” comment may be entirely misconceived. Lots of people end up replacing one word with another which sounds the same (a homonym I think it’s called), either because of phone etc spellcheck or a simple lapse in concentration. I often get their and there mixed up not beca...

Re: Rocky

I wonder whether he has ever developed the skill to play what is in front of him. He seems unable to adapt, and end up going down blind alleys far too often. Good player to have in the squad, and he is an important squad player for the best club side in the world, so it could be a lot worse.

He reminds me of Cunningham. He already leads the pack. What a talent.

Re: Wigan Squad for Salford

The backs pick themselves. In the pack, with half an eye on Good Friday, I would play:
Thompson - O’Neill - Dupree - Nsemba - Farrell - Ellis (with Mago, Byrne, Hill and Forber). Nsemba looked superb when he hit his stride against London, and I am v excited to see what damage he can cause this year.
