Re: Kaide Ellis signs new deal

Pleased about this. I think Kaide will bring some stability and, potentially, leadership to our forwards over the next few years and there's still plenty of room for improvement too.

Re: Ian Lenagan to step down as Chairman and Shareholder

No leader, whether it's in sport, business, politics or anything else will ever satisfy everyone. We need only look at this forum to appreciate how opinions differ and are sometimes poles apart. Ian Lenagan has come in for praise and criticism on these pages and I guess that's what forums, and opini...

Re: Kruise Leeming joins Wigan from 2024

Must spell the end for Powell rather than O'Neil, who is progressing well. Powell will have had his testimonial year so good time to exit.

Re: Harry Smith

Whatever MPE says at the age of 23 and with a couple of years first team experience under his belt, Smith should be giving strong indications of his ability by now. I blow hot and cold as clearly he has talent and he has laid on quite a number of tries with precise attacking kicks (Marshall at Hull ...

Re: Cats v Wigan

I don't think our problems this afternoon really had much to do with our playmakers. Catalans dominated field position and territory so the effectiveness of our attack was always going to be limited. For me it's pretty obvious the age old problem has cost us yet again. Their pack was big, powerful,...

Re: Ryan Hampshire reflects on his return to first team action

No club so unemployed after a bad injury. Takes some mental strength as well as the physical rehab to come back from that. Shows what a precarious occupation being a professional RL player is. Which is why those who think a salary cap of £2.1m is enough (because it keeps wages down) are living on t...

Re: Faz

Faz is not a 'battering ram' forward. He never has been and never will be. He doesn't make metres by strength or post-contact effort. However because of his speed and footwork he's devastating when he has a bit of space to work with and I think that this season so far, the players inside him haven't...

Re: Wigan squad for Hull FC

We need more attacking threat than just French and some of that has to come from Smith. It didn't against Wakefield and it didn't tonight. OK, he has no stand-off to work with but needs to show a bit more running creativity. Conditions were bad and Wigan were patient but without a cutting edge. That...

Re: Wigan squad for Hull FC

Shorrocks deserves better than to be benched. Given our rapidly deceasing number of props - Smithies to act as a new kind of mobile prop in an emergency? - Shorrocks to 13 - Powell to move into the forwards - Faz & KPP in the 2nd row and get O'Neill into hooker. (Cue outrage at playing a player...

Re: Player of the Month: April

Smith was great against Saints & Wire, but I'd have liked to see a bit more creativity in his display against Wakefield. Shorrocks has worked his socks off and been outstanding defensively but hasn't offered too much in attack, not unexpectedly as he isn't a half-back. Top marks for his effort a...
