Re: Stand Off

I think one of the problems is whoever is at fullback you're relying on other people to get the ball to him in the right places. Whether it was Field or French we haven't always been great this year at getting the ball to the fullback in a position where they can actually cause problems. That was on...

Re: 2024 line up

We still need a new stand off or centre (depending on where Keighran plays) and a recognised back row forward, as Walters hasn't played second row for a couple of years and he seems to have grown into a prop in that time. If I'm not mistaken we already have 5 of 5 permitted overseas players, which m...

Re: Wigan Squad

Just to add to the above.

Average points conceded per game with Havard & Ellis in the team - 10.1
Average points conceded when only one of them plays - 21.3

Re: Wigan Squad

We're undoubtedly less effective in attack this year, but this issue predates French moving to stand off. It's clearly been an issue we've had since the start of the year. We've had just three games this year where we've posted really big scores. The 60-0 win over Wakefield, the 36-0 win over Castle...

Re: Paul Wellens accuses RFL of failing to protect players as St Helens suffer four injuries involving same player

I think the issue here is the guidelines for determining foul play for tackles that are low relate to a players standing leg when held in a tackle. These guidelines were introduced as a result of tackles that were previously deemed legal being reviewed and deemed dangerous. When a player is moving t...

Re: Willie Isa

For my money he wasn't fit so quite why he played is beyond me maybe if the sun has been beating down its have been the right call in that weather well it didn't work did it Isa was outstanding defensively in the first half. He didn't look unfit. He was returning from a hamstring injury and there's...

Re: Where's Cust?

Cust isn't playing because his performances at 6 weren't good enough. He got a chance to keep himself in the team by playing 9 but his performances weren't good enough in that position either. If he gets a chance in the next few weeks he needs to take it. Field isn't playing 6 because Matt Peet ditc...

Re: HullKR v Wigan CC match thread

I’ve just watched the match back and if that is a sending off then rugby league is finished. I totally agree, the lunatics have taken over the asylum. I have been saying for a couple of seasons that we are going to be playing tick rugby in 5 years No they haven't the past players are suing the game...

Re: Byrne

It's so rare for props to hit their peak in their early or even mid 20's. Byrne reminds me a bit of Gil Dudson when he was at the club. Plenty of promise and some good performances early on in his career but mostly just a lot of waiting around for him to reach his potential. Which Dudson did, at the...

Re: HullKR v Wigan CC match thread

We play some really dumb rugby at times. Farrell as captain should be controlling the team and tactics on the pitch. He should be barking orders to the team and laying the law down to them stting out what they should do in the next set etc. He seems to escape criticism for his captaincy, or I shoul...
