Re: Kol is quiet

I had to laugh, and begin to wonder whether this is a complete wind up, when I read KOL's sign off with a comment that the half backs did well. Which, to anybody who has played or watched more than 5 minutes of our great game would ascribe to great coaching and a great game plan. :D

Re: Sponsors of Chris Tuson

Am happy to put my hand in my pocket, but from Surrey I am too remote. Perhaps we could sponsor Burke before he gets very expensive?

Re: I'll stick my neck out here and now.

I suppose that we might credit the coaching staff in identifying the right sort of players and working on a combination? Perhaps they also judged how long to give them in per season pretty well? Crazy thoughts I know.

<r><QUOTE author="DaveO"><s>[quote="DaveO"]</s>I voted Wire because my head tells me there is no way you can lose Fielden, Lima, Hock and now Hansen from a pack replace it with inexperienced young players and expect to compete.<br/> <br/> The heart however is trying to convince the head of the vario...

Re: Wane hints at another signing

Who objected to Fielden going at the time? I cannot remember a single post suggesting Wigan were wrong not to match the contract offer the Giants made him. That was the time to make the point, not now the world has changed. Tbh, the best second rower would be Mossop, he could be immense there.

Re: Squad for Friday

<t>Happy with that. Same again, Sam and co.<br/> I think the backs will be absolutely fine. We are seeing the benefits of Smith having had half a season with us, so the new combo is actually a new 6, Having Powell available provides with a better interchange than we had with Logan, while Green offer...

Re: Wane hints at another signing

I would rather have Paul Wood than Fielden. Signing him would make perfect sense of letting Fielden go. Just because Fielden had a good couple of 20 minute bursts on Saturday that doesn't mean that he was a risk worth taking.

Re: What are your expectations for Wigan this season?

<t>My hope is that we win something. I love finishing top of the league, so would be pleased with that result again.<br/> My expectations are somewhat higher after week 1 with the confirmation that Saints are no stronger than last year. Even our "weaker" squad is capable of finishing above them. Ass...

Re: Can we be bullied ?

<t>I may misremember, but I think that Wane himself started as a 13 and moved up to prop after bulking himself up. He was never a natural prop, and was injury prone, perhaps as a consequence. Maybe he has a blind spot about naturally massive and aggressive players. <br/> I agree that tempo is the ke...
