Re: Half-backs are making their mark

Wary about being shot down here but I see Gareth O'Brien is out on loan to Cas. I always thought he looked really promising in SL.

Might be worth us making an enquiry. He could be very handy for the future.

Re: Urghh referees, tjs

<t>I thought the continued lifting of legs by all teams over the weekend (although we were probably the worst offenders and Lockers in particular was doing it) was a really backward step. It can easily lead to a spear tackle and it's something the game can do without.<br/> <br/> Incidentally, I thou...

Re: Urghh referees, tjs

<t>I'm as unimpressed by SL refs as anyone but I thought Bentham did generally OK. Granted he missed the key moment when Charnley was hit early and in the air but the only other massive thing he missed was when Sam was bent over backwards and nearly strangled in a two-man tackle. Think what it could...

Re: Wire match

<t>It certainly wasn't meant to be a criticism of Sam who is a genuinely great player and seems to be a pretty grounded sort of guy.<br/> The worry for me was that even a great player needs time on the pitch to be match-fit and to link with new players for the benefit of the team.<br/> I'm beginning...

Re: Wire match

<t>Surely the crux is - either we are worryingly bad or the team picked was so unbalanced that the whole escapade was pointless (no pun intended). What's the point of having pre-season matches if we don't put a side together that is likely to play together to get game time experience? <br/> <br/> It...

Re: Hock Joins Widnes Vikings on Season Loan

<t>Here's the bit that I don't understand (outside of the fact that in general, I'd rather have someone inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in)<br/> <br/> If Hock is such a pain then why don't Wigan sell him to Australia - get a shedload of money - free up his salary inside the salary c...

Re: Who would you rather have: Hock or Wane?

Why doesn't the club release a statement? It could simply say "Gareth Hock is a Wigan player - he will remain so and we look forward to him being part of a successful team when he fully recovers from injury"

That would clear things up.

Re: SACK SW NOW

<t>I never like attacking a coach but that's one of the dumbest interviews that I've ever seen. <br/> It reads like an invitation for a club to come and offer silly money to take Sam away as Wigan are expecting him to leave. As Sam is essentially signed up for two years until he is free (IF HE WISHE...

Re: Gelling.

The trend is for Centres and Second-Rowers to be interchangeable these days - Joel Tomkins? Hoffman could also have done either job.

I just hope Gelling gets some sponsorship from Evo-Stik.
