Re: RFL Disciplinary

Great news that smith is available . Dangerous precedent though that any player up for dump tackle throughout the season will just point to this and argue for the same - I.e just a fine. Depends on the mitigation though... Ref on the field made it quite clear he disagreed with a red as Hooley made ...

Re: Alex Walmsley's passionate player's union plea following Super League tackle rule changes

As a 16 year old, I bought my first motor bike. I rode everywhere pretty much as fast as I could go. I had little sense of danger. When the compulsory crash helmet law came in, I was dead against it. I'm now 72 and still have a bike and ride regularly. I won't set off without helmet, gloves, armoure...

Re: Tanya Arnold on ‘huge’ BBC deal, potential audience & end of Super League Show

Who made the decision for BBC to show at 1730 on Saturday and clash with Sky Sports showing the Premier League? prime time Saturday night on free to air TV, and yet we still complain   Welcome to the world of rugby league fans! If we're not complaining about the administrators, the refs, ...

Re: Wigan Warriors to feature on the BBC following new historic broadcast deal, including World Club Challenge

We know we have the product. The BBC and others like The Sportman have the talent to wax lyrical about our sport. Mark Chapman, Helen Skelton have a great opportunity to cement firstly their own careers, latterly Helen, who drives a nice Audi 4x4, but to show why RL can be as big as RU. Better prod...

Thompson played for St Helens over a seven-year period, playing 163 games and scoring 2013 tries.

Some going that 💪

Re: Bevan French excited to link up with 'nightmare' back-rower as he discusses new right-edge combinations

Out of all the new signings, I think Sam Walters could be the best of them all, really looking forward to seeing him this season. For an owd mon I'm quite excited about Sam Walters. Something of an old style rampaging ball-handling forward about him, Bill Ashurst, maybe? (In some ways - not charact...

Re: Stevie Ward to Sue Leeds

Another (simpler) angle on this, since I assume none of us are legal experts, is that Ward will be following advice from the players union and his or their lawyers. I appreciate that some of the discussion is about whether we should be such a litigious society, but we are where we are. The lad has s...

Re: Garry Schofield Column; my prediction for Wigan Warriors Super League 2024

Listened to the Wigan World podcast with Andy Gregory. He says (in my own words from memory) "Garry Schofield slags other players off, which isn't right." "I said to him, 'Show us your CV, Garry. What've you got on it? A Yorkshire Cup winners medal and a Boys Brigade badge from when y...

There's a danger in repeating what I have been told about Schoey. Let's just say I wouldn't take a blind bit of notice of a word he utters. And how he spends the money he's paid for writing this stuff is his own business.
