Re: Wigan to host Penrith in Betfred World Club Challenge

Sam Panapa was wonderful that night…
Bring it on.

Re: Ian Lenagan

I would like to start with an apology. In 2008, I was in Sydney for the World Cup and was (inadvertently on my part) mistaken for him by the owner of an NRL club - and treated very well indeed. During the evening I had the privilege of being introduced to one of my all time heroes: summoned by said ...

Re: Any more to come?

I am very excited indeed, in particular because for the first time this century we will have a running threat at 9 AND a big pack, hitting the line and making post contact metres. When we played the Roosters, KR made the point that we needed to be much bigger, but it has taken us forever to do somet...

Re: Wigan announce new Principal Partner

I am going to say they provide support in areas any developing businesses might need it, eg accounts, HR, strategic advice, IT, but that’s a complete guess.
What caught my eye was Andy Coley - it’s a different one, right?

Re: Wigan Warriors favourites to dominate 2024 season

Year 1 of life after KC and Roby for Saints. As Leeds have shown, and Man U show us in football, the period after the end of an era can be very difficult. It will be fascinating to see how they adapt - I simply don’t see their next generation as being anywhere near as good as this one, but they have...

Re: 2024 Squad numbers

I think squad numbers have been used as a reflection on what a player has achieved the season before. It will be fascinating to see how Peet goes about handing them out among the props. If we give 13 to Thompson, then I would rate the other props (if fully fit) in this order: Havard - Ellis - Dupree...

Re: Smithies Gone

There are a lot of players who leave Wigan, and very few of them go on to have better careers than if they had stayed. I wonder if Gildart had his time again, for instance, or Budgie, or Josh… Thompson is an absolute beast of a player, and if we see him as a 13, then I can’t wait to see it happen.

Re: Three Warriors In England 19-Man Squad

King must surely be a Warrington player?
I would have thought that, of next year’s wigan squad, if fit, Thompson, Dupree, Havard and Wardle would merit consideration for places in the squad, plus Marshall is much better than Ashton.

Re: Owen Farrell

I can’t say I care either way. It’s Danson’s money, and he won’t count on the cap in year one anyway. Given the risk from his perspective, I don’t see what’s in it for him.

Re: 2023 Grand Final Raw

I agree, the Channel 4 one was superb. They do seem to have some very short camera people, but aside from that it was so good I would re-watch it. At the end, it sounded either that was it for Channel 4 coverage (or they don’t know whether it would be), which would be a shame, though I appreciate th...
