Re: Consistency of officiating
I'm not trying to stir things here, or criticise anyone, but in 61 years watching RL and Wigan, fans have always complained about refs. Two incidents I remember: as a 13 or 14 year old kid, I was ranting about a ref giving a try against us: "It wasn't a try!!!" Bloke next to me (a Wiganer)...

Re: Derby Day!
Great to read some very honest and realistic comments on here. I sometimes switch off at the "blame the ref" and "the end is nigh" sort of stuff.

Re: Derby Day!
Tactically we have been poor today.Didnt deserve to lose but didnt deserve to win either. When faz is running from acting half on tackle 4 you know we are devoid of ideas.I know a lot of people will disagree but im still not convinced with bev as a six Agree with most of what you say, Fs. I think, o...

Re: Derby Day!
We didn't offer much against their line speed in the first half. We were a man shot for 1/3rd of the match, but Saints have shown that they are still capable of matching us on their day. Can they do it over a season - I doubt it.

Thanks to both of you. Great memories stirred by a great player. We are lucky to have seen so many wearing cherry and white.

Re: Bill Francis
Was Bill at Gullick Dobson when you were MPE? By the way, he got a terrific send off irrespective of the Club's failure to attend. Many former players attended, including the great Billy B, Phil and Andy Clarke were coffin bearers, and his daughter gave a fitting eulogy. I didn't work for Gullicks,...

Re: Bill Francis
I missed this thread for some reason. Very sad news. Bill Francis was a hero of mine. Though I started attending matches aged 12 in the 63/64 season, I guess it took a while for me to start to understand the finer points of the game. It was watching Bill in the late 60s and early 70s, especially whe...

Re: LEAGUE. Joint Super League and NRL decision set to be made
Stupidity. It didn't work when we played Warrintion in Minneapolis in the middle ages. So you expected a single exhibition match to do what exactly? You need a multi-year plan, fully financed and thought through, with measurable and realistic targets at multiple points over the plan's timescale. Do...
