I like International Rugby League and really enjoyed it.
It wasn't dull to me although on TV the crowd did seem subdued. Perhaps no wonder with England going 0-10 down.
Some may think it was dull but who isn't looking forward to the next two matches?

Re: Colin Welland
A great RL fan.
I always admired his "Chariots of Fire" film.
Never heard of Eric Liddell until I saw the film.
What a man and what a sporting hero.
A story that couldn't be better told.
Sad news, RIP.

Re: Yet another Sam Burgess rumour
Reading what's about today the feeling around seems to be Sam B has played his last game of Union. Also it maybe that only the amount of the transfer fee is what's stalling the transfer.
Maybe Leeds might take him for a year, at this stage we just don't know!

<t>For what ever reason MM was off the pace last season.<br/> <br/> McNamara isn't a good coach but on this occasion he got it right with JH and Roby. The Kiwis knew what they were facing with Hodgson, as often as they may have faced Roby they won't be as familiar with him as JH being in the NRL.<br...

Re: Best British Rugby League Player of all time
I also thought the decline in crowds after the introduction of summer rugby must have had an effect too.
The popular side stand used to be full and it went down to half or threequaters full.
As for the best ever, as I mentioned before, Billy!

<t>Vibes are that Sam will be fit for the start of 2016 season. <br/> I also think Sarge will too, just hoping he's not used as much as a prop forward next season as he was last. <br/> It took a lot out of him and he lost a lot of his attacking flair due to his hit ups early almost set of six.<br/> ...

<t>Smith got flogged last season.<br/> Main playmaker, look after a young no.6, do the field kicking, do the goal kicking, playing 80 mins in each match and missed perhaps one game.<br/> If he's flogged the same 2016 then come 2017 burn out is a distincy possibility. Re: Best British Rugby League Player of all time
I agree, Billy.
I saw him play wing, centre, full back and stand off.
In 1959 (I think) in the Saints match when Murphy and Sullivan were sent off by Eric Clay, Billy went to stand off and won the game from there for us.

Re: McNamara in no rush to commit his future to England
England have a lot of quality players and nowhere near fulfil their potential.
Imagine how good they could be if they had a coach like Bennett or Bellamy or Robinson in charge.
McNamara should go.
His record at club level was awful and at International level even worse.
