Re: Poor state of RL Clubs finances tonight BBC 1 Inside out

<t>I saw the programme and, yes, it lacked analysis, failed to name clubs, negative etc etc . . . BUT wake up and smell the coffee. <br/> The bloke got his figures from company records and no-one's disputed them. The RFL spokesman, a slack Aussie, sounded complacent "We're no worse than other sports...

Re: Wembley Statue

<r>Thanks for that, Josie - I'm a bit old for this computer lark <EMOJI seq="1f60a"></EMOJI> <br/> I thought of Sid Abram because of his link with 1st final at Wembley. If we're talking wingers in full flight, it would have to be Billy Boston and/or Tom Van Vollenhoven well ahead of Martin Of...

Re: Best supported team in SL.........again!

<r><QUOTE author="One Season Ferguson "><s>[quote="One Season Ferguson "]</s>There seems less away support coming to Wigan over the past couple of seasons. Playing Yorkshire teams on a Friday night is no help either. 16k seems a a mgnificent effort to me and well done to the marketing team.<e>[/quot...

Re: What does Wembley mean to you?

<t>1965 as a 13 year old, Wigan v Hunslet. Got it on video and it's still a great game (don't believe all the "up the jumper" stuff).<br/> 1984, lost to Widnes but they were an ageing team, we had a 17 year old Shaun Edwards. I said to my wife on the way out, "We'll be back!"<br/> 1985 with an 8 yea...

Re: Bookies Favourite

I'd be more careful about your choice of Smiley  What happened against Sheffield in 98? And Leeds have run us close in the last year or two. i think we'll win, and hope it's by 14, but I'll save my grinning for after 4 o'clock on Saturday.

<t>Having been to every premiership final and grand final, I went to the Wigan v Bradford grand final with my 2 sons and my daughter-in-law. It was her first game. We left just after half time due to the fighting, caused entirely by Wigan fans, going on all around us, and the ineffective response of...

Re: Wigan v Cas: Worst Wig...

<t>You're right that the main problem is defending near our line - Cas seemed to score every time they got within 10 to 15 yards.<br/> Lockers was head and shoulders our best player, despite one or two mistakes. Orr, Calderwood, Higham, (none of them Wiganers) couldn't be faulted for effort. My conc...
