Re: Recruitment/Retention Drive For 2021
By definition, no-one knows what will happen to the pound next week or next year. Any known information or speculation is taken into account, minute-by-minute, by traders. When No Deal looked more likely early this month, it dropped to around $1.20. As I write it's $1.24. It responds to events, so s...

Re: Not long to wait now.
Now it is Sir Geoffrey it surely cannot be long before its Sir Kev??? :P What do you think Morley? Surely long overdue?? Can't see anyone in RL ever getting a knighthood. Personally, my heroes are the ones who refused honours, like LS Lowry. Coincidentally, Ian, I once met "Sir" Geoffrey ...

Re: Shaun Edwards says Wigan Warriors better off with Adrian Lam - and backs them for Grand Final glory
At the time he was playing there was a substantial number of "fans" that didn't like Edwards. I remember him being regularly booed for not going forwards. I was not one of these people, but they did exist. So the views here do seem to reflect some of the history of the club to me. Plus so...

Re: Bevan French
What was it Murphy said about Ferguson in the second half the 1985 cup final (when Fergie had a muscle or hamstring problem in the first half)? Something along the lines of "If he's got a bad leg, I'll have two of em." Another classic was when Joe Lydon dropped a goal from 60 metres at Mai...

Re: Why Wigan Warriors lost £1.4m last year
As a sales pitch, "the club is losing money, crowds are down, good players have left for Aus" is not the way to sell more season tickets and increase gates. It might appeal to those already committed, but the majority of the population want to do what's fashionable/popular. An invitation t...

Re: 19-man squad vs Catalans
I think 10,800 v Catalans on a Thursday is about par.
It's 100 more than the Hull KR game last month & that was on a Friday.
A week later we had 12,555 against Warrington. That was disappointing imo.

Sounds like fun, Ian. Batley was a satellite to Horbury, though (thanks to Puma) Batley still survives. Puma was always a separate, and more successful company, with Slazengers doing their sales/distribution. Derek Ibbotson was employed by Puma, so didn't allow it to get dragged down by a collapsing...

Re: Shaun Edwards says Wigan Warriors better off with Adrian Lam - and backs them for Grand Final glory
Bit of a shoddy way of covering self if you ask me. I was over the moon when he got announced as the new Wigan coach(risky or not) as he was a Wigan legend and one of the best players I’ve seen. He will always have a legacy at the club but he has marred it significantly with how he treated the club...
