Re: Wigan Warriors injury update with Ethan Havard to miss start of Super League season

I am concerned at the number of hamstring injuries our players have been picking up. The risk of these being suffered can be reduced/mitigated by the right training, recovery and preparation. I am sure we are on it, but once a player starts getting hamstring issues they can recur. 🤞 that’s it in Eth...

Re: WCC

We are slow off the mark, but we have a bigger group to organise than the core season ticket holders so we would probably not have chosen our season ticket seats. We need to get our act together though, and some of us are in different positions financially, so it might be January before we sort this...

Re: Ryan Hampshire

As a youngster he looked like he could really develop, and yet it hasn’t quite happened for him. I wonder whether he has developed enough vision and feel for the game along the way, and whether it’s now too late. He always seems to be near to pulling it all together, and yet… Good luck to him. Maybe...

Re: MATT PEET intends to build his Wigan team around leading player

I would need to double check, but the 2 GFs that I felt got away from us were Maguire’s second year, when we were by far the strongest team, and the one we lost through Flower’s brutal stupidity. I will be happy to see what we saw this year - a clear strategy, making the most of our talent, pride in...

Re: Squad numbers

A few things strike me about this: first, we don’t have masses of cover in the backs, though it would only need a couple of the young guns to be ready to remedy that; second, giving Byrne the 10 shirt for 24 is a massive vote of confidence in him. If he genuinely is better than Dupree, Cooper, Mago ...

Re: Saturday games!!

Might the Saturday fixtures be linked to a new Channel 4 contract? I thought their coverage was superb.

Re: Ian Lenagan

I entirely agree with Big Steve, and would add that he also had good ideas for the direction of the game and tried to make SL more professional. Even his “mistakes” - arguably, bringing back players too readily and being too slow to move on when things were not working - spring from positive qualiti...
