32 penalties!

Post by GeoffN »

Both coaches agree he was rubbish

"We're just going to drive our fans away if this continues," said Noble.

He's not wrong.

That is one complete joke. A bigger joke than Ganson's 28 penalties. It is not only a penalty record, I reckon that is a world record if you ask me.

I did not realise it was that high. Almost become conditioned to it. What I have noticed is that you can almost buy penalties by taking your time playing the ball. The defence are eager and hey presto penalty. The game is moving towards meltdown. I wonder how many of those missing tonight are down to poor entertainment?

Either they will have RL done away with as Morph suggested or the referees will turn it to RU.

In terms of a flowing game, I have seen three this season where the referees have left there whistles at home, the three games are:

Hull KR v Hull FC - Klein

Leeds v Bradford - Ganson

Wigan v Hull KR - Thaler.

I completely agree with all these posts the game was (YAWN) boring boring boring :exc:
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Agree with CPwigan, I also didnt notice that it was that high. Although I did agree with most of the penalties, I tend to agree with daniel anderson about Ian Smith. Too many penalties.

The silly thing was I thought Smith kept a good 10 yards. He did not need to keep blowing. The defences were not going silly. You factor in the conditions too.

Pedantic is probably wrong Turf. In theory he could have given 60 penalties if that is what he wanted to do. I think lack of common sense is the best description. The old adage a good referee is never noticed holds true IMO.

I do think the referees may now have touchies in their ear piece every 10 seconds.

Phil Gould in the NRL believes referees are over coached these days and should be left to officiate as they see fit. He even advocated removing much of the video referee.

With this new offside rule that has been brought in cpwigan, every referee could give 60 odd penalties I reckon - except Ben Thaler.
