Not too keen on sacrificing home advantage with our away form
Wigan in London
Re: Wigan in London
So as I understand it a game in London will be classed as a home game?

Re: Wigan in London
My season ticket has always been for home games to be played at home, central Park as was and now DW not in London. That is what I want to be honoured by the club.
Re: Wigan in London
A completely ludicrous idea.
IL says:
"My personal passion for Wigan and rugby league in London makes this initiative an obvious one"
Not it doesn't. It is self indulgent on his part. He likes it to we have to put up with it?
"The expansion into London is a core element of Wigan's growth strategy to engage with both the sporting public and the business community and will see a wide array of activities over the coming months and years, including at least one Wigan home game per year and rugby league camps run by Wigan staff."
Why doesn't he just take the Wigan "franchise" to London and be done with it?
Who in their right minds thinks you can achieve anything by courting businesses two hundred miles away?
It's worse than Workington playing a "home" game in Wrexham or somewhere.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Southerners will take to SW like a union leader to Thatcher.
Re: Wigan in London
What about the "away" team and their fans?
Has anyone asked them if they are going to be happy with the logistics and costs associated with this?

Re: Wigan in London
Not sure this will go down too well with London Broncos. Maybe IL can convince them that it will improve the overall exposure of the game in London then they will accept it. It risks undermining them in their core market.
I'm not sure how this benefits us TBH, but I believe the Royal artillery game has been a big networking success so perhaps this is an effort to build on that.

Maybe the game could be played after theirs?Mike wrote:Not sure this will go down too well with London Broncos. Maybe IL can convince them that it will improve the overall exposure of the game in London then they will accept it. It risks undermining them in there core market.
A London double header, Catalans?
