Here's a opportunity, sign hayne after the Olympics on a one year deal. I doubt he'll get back into the nfl after quitting.

You have my vote, Mike. Just one question: isn't Sam our "marquee player"? Jayne would surely want more than we would be allowed to pay?Mike wrote:Here's a opportunity, sign hayne after the Olympics on a one year deal. I doubt he'll get back into the nfl after quitting.

Wasn't he on £30,000 a week at the 49ers? #notsurewecanaffordthat
Re: sign Hayne
Its true, under normal circumstances we can't afford him.
However, he's just left the NRL to join Fiji 7s for the olympics, not even being attached to a club side. I very much doubt he's going to hang around in union after the olympics are over. So in these unusual circumstances there is an opportunity to put together a deal that may tempt him to give us a cameo season. I admit, its a long shot, but this is how we've done business before - looking for unusual opportunities and taking advantage. Its why we had all those Melbourne players over here for a bit. And why we ended up with a load of Welsh and London players too.

Highly unlikely, but definitely worth enquiring. You can bet your boots other clubs will be putting 'the feelers' out there.

Re: sign Hayne
Hayne doesn't do one year deals or any deals.
He won't hang around long enough to fulfil a one year deal.
As good an idea, no chance!

I don't see any chance that we try to get him, or that NRL teams aren't already finding space for him in 2017.

I remember drooling over the prospect of gasnier signing a few years ago....
It's a bit like me dreaming that England will win the world cup in football. My missus has told me for 35 years I'm dreaming and now I'm a grumpy old man I can see she's been right!
