Huge Day of Entertainment to take place at World Club Challenge fixture

Special performance from Paul Sutton and Wigan Youth Choir to headline before Wigan v Cronulla clash

New 188BET fanzone set to welcome fans outside stadium

Wigan Warriors have unveiled a huge day of entertainment for their World Club Challenge clash with Cronulla at the DW Stadium on Sunday.

The Warriors will be looking to make history by claiming a record fourth World Club title when they face the NRL champions.

The afternoons entertainment before kick-off will be headlined by a special performance from Paul Sutton accompanied by the Wigan Youth Choir.

A former Deanery High School pupil, Paul, first hit the headlines in the year 2000 when he won TV show Stars In Their Eyes. He has since forged a career as a popular professional singer and has made several further TV appearances.

Speaking to Wigan Today ahead of the performance, Paul, whose Grandfathers were both big Wigan fans said;

“I was brought up with them all loving Wigan Rugby. It feels a real big honour and privilege.

“I think they would be really proud. It’s really emotional.”

Sutton, along with members of the Wigan Youth Choir, will perform Boyzone’s ‘Who We Are’ before the match.

He said: “The lyrics are very appropriate for Wigan Warriors. It says we will battle through and we are Warriors.”

The afternoon will also see vocalist and Number One selling Songwriter, Tricia McTeague perform both the English and Australian National anthems before entertaining fans at half-time.

Fans will be welcomed to the stadium by the 188BET Fanzone in the South East corner of the ground - featuring the mascot Mighty Max, the fan hub, a goal kicking simulator, big screen, live music from local band The Strand and food vans.

Elsewhere the first two fans will be selected by the clubs main partners to take part in the new half time challenge, whilst the players will enter the field to a huge firework display from the roof of the DW Stadium.

Tickets for Wigan Warriors versus Cronulla Sharks are available from £22 adults, £16 concessions and £12 juniors from the DW Stadium Ticket Office, the Ticket Hotline on 0871 66-33-552 and online by Clicking HERE

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
