Matchday information ahead of Dacia World Club Challenge

Warriors get set for first home game of 2017

Big crowd expected with fans urged to arrive in good time

Wigan Warriors take on Cronulla Sharks in the Dacia World Club Challenge at the DW Stadium on Sunday, the first home game of 2017.


As the action returns to the DW Stadium, fans are urged to give themselves plenty of time to get to the ground and enter the stadium as a large crowd is expected, and the first home game of the season traditionally sees a late rush just before kick-off.

Kick off for the game is 3pm and turnstiles will open at 1.30pm.

Tickets
Despite the expected large crowd, tickets for the game are still available online HERE and selecting the Print@Home option. Tickets will also be available via the main stadium Ticket Office which will be open from 10am on Sunday.

Tickets are on sale for Sunday’s game as well as Wigan’s opening five home games of 2017 and the Dacia Magic Weekend. Season Tickets for Super League are also still on sale.

Cash turnstiles are available in the South Stand (turnstile G5) and the North Stand (turnstile P1). Tickets for the East and West Stands will be available from the Main Ticket Office with only limited seats remaining.

Fans are reminded that Season Tickets are NOT VALID for this game.

Parking & Directions
With a big crowd anticipated all fans are urged to arrive early, take their seat and enjoy the pre-match entertainment. Fans are advised seasonal car parking passes ARE valid for this game. Pay on the day car parking is ONLY available on Car Park 1 at the end of Stadium Way, all other stadium car parks are fully booked with seasonal passes. Please be aware that there are now ‘Magic Eye’ parking sensors on the DW Fitness Gym Car Park and Car Park 5. These are not controlled by the Stadium or Club but anyone parking there may be subject to parking fines which are issued by the parking agent through the post after the event.

Also, we have been informed that a small section of City Road at the mini roundabout with Montrose Avenue in Kitt Green will be closed on Sunday. Fans who normally use this route to the game from Orrell / Pemberton / Winstanley areas are advised to re-consider their route.

Spectator Amenities
The South Stand Bar will be open before and after the match as normal and is still free entry for all Season Ticket holders. The club would like to urge fans wishing to enter the South Stand Bar to arrive early to avoid disappointment. First Team representatives will head down to the bar after the game.

Warriors World @ The DW
The Club Shop will be open from 12:30pm before the game so fans can get their hands on the latest Erreà products including the new 2017 warm-up shirts and special walk out tops that will be worn by the players before the World Club Challenge.

World Club Programme
A special large format souvenir World Club Challenge programme will be available for this game packed full of interviews and information on both teams at a cost of £6.

Golden Gamble
Fans will be able to get their Golden Gamble tickets from sellers in and around the stadium; tickets cost just £1 with proceeds going to the Wigan Warriors Development Association. Prizes include up to £2000 cash, a player’s shirt from the game and the sought after legendary jar of Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls.

Entertainment
The afternoon’s entertainment before kick-off will be headlined by a special performance from Paul Sutton accompanied by the Wigan Youth Choir. The afternoon will also see vocalist and Number One selling Songwriter, Tricia McTeague perform both the English and Australian National anthems before entertaining fans at half-time.

Fans will be welcomed to the stadium by the 188BET Fanzone in the South East corner of the ground - featuring Warriors mascot Mighty Max, the fan hub, a goal kicking simulator, big screen, live music from local band The Strand and food vans.

Elsewhere the first two fans will be selected by the clubs main partners to take part in the new half time challenge, whilst the players will enter the field to a huge firework display from the roof of the DW Stadium.

Max’s Family Club
Max’s Family club will NOT OPEN for this game however will start back when Super League returns to the DW for next Friday’s visit of Widnes.
