Gelling

Post by Warrior Gilfedder »

Absolute idiot, really stupid behaviour after a half decent game from him, his sending off could have lost us that game, some will praise him for being a bit of a goon, i used to be a fan but enough is enough, he has to go for me, we need to replace him with a proper centre who doesn't ride a bmx to the stadium :exc:

1 part of me agrees but if they got the ball away with our defence lined up as it was then they might have scored. At the time I wanted to hit him but looking back it might have saved a try.

Tbh after the 30 min mark Salford never really looked like scoring. We bombed 3-4 tries today they had a chance of 2 and scored them.

Agreed. He doesn't have the brains to play RL. Always a loose cannon likely to do his own thing.

In the past he has got away with it probably because we were in better form and beating teams comfortably despite the odd Gelling brain fart. If I recall correctly his similar mistakes this season, shooting out of the line have directly cost us points - Saints away I think to name one (unless my memory is playing tricks on me).

He tends to come up with daft play against the better sides in close matches or if things are going against us a bit which is quite telling IMO. Good players rise to such challenges not go off the rails like Gelling.

The bottom line is these faults should have been coached out of him by now so either no one has tried or he can't learn. Either way we need a centre who doesn't have these faults because they are obviously not going away with Gelling.

His antics were funny when he performed on the field but he isn't performing. So you feel he's just robbing us of a decent centre.
He's ran his course at Wigan, we need to bring in a specialised centre next season

Times up for me with him, when he does put on a game he looks half decent but its getting to be rarer than hens teeth.

Time to move him on

Like i said in another post, the game would have been won if he was a decent centre...his delay of the pass too tom caused tom too go too close too the sideline.....also his positioning was awful on the forward pass too tom......his run out of the line , in defence, could have cost us dearly.......hes got too go simple as......also tommy should go.......ide also release powell and not renew lockers contract....... next season this is the way forward imo
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE

Not watched it on TV yet but the Gelling sin bin was bizarre where I was sitting right near to where it happened .Gelling was running back to defend when Salford player passed the ball infield and hit Gelling as he was running back it looked non intentional whatsoever the most bizarre sending off ive seen in 65 years watching rugby.

The replay showed him dipping hi head to head the ball.
Thought sin bin was tough though.
Overall Child had a poor game.
Thaler contradicted himself repeatedly lover the Burgess no try.

I don't think there's any doubt that Gelling did play at the ball. You might even say it was smart play by s
Salford; they knew he wouldn't be able to resist...

Thaler did contradict himself (or change his mind, if you will), but I think he got the right decision in the end.

Joe Burgess doesn't look right at all. As I said in the other thread, I'm sure Marshall would have scored that try.
