Magic fan event

Post by josie andrews »

Wigan fans are invited to gather in Newcastle this weekend ahead of the 2018 Dacia Magic Weekend.

The pre-match event, organised by the Warriors Adult Fans Engagement Board, takes place at The Centurion, Newcastle from 10am through to 12:30pm on Saturday.

The Warriors Fan Engagement Board was created to help bring the club closer to its supporter base and improve the relationship between the club and fans.

Speaking about the event, Chairman of the Adult Fans Engagement Board, Sean Lawless said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to encourage Wigan fans that perhaps only attend big events like Magic Weekend and finals to come together with season ticket holders and those new to the sport. We hope to showcase the best of the Wigan club and its fans in a great city, in a wonderfully iconic venue like the Centurion Bar.”

Members of the Fan Engagement Board will be at the event to speak to fans to get ideas on how to improve the matchday experience back at the DW Stadium.

The Kenny Sterling Shield and the World Club Challenge trophy will be in attendance with fans able to have pictures taken with both.

Wigan face Warrington at St James’ Park at 5:15pm. Other games on Saturday include Toronto Wolfpack V Toulouse Olympique XIII (12:45pm), Widnes Vikings V St Helens (3:00pm) and Castleford Tigers V Leeds Rhinos (7:30pm).

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

This sounds interesting. We are coming across with friends who have never been to Magic before, so will drop in. does anyone know how close to the ground this pub is?

It’s a bit of a walk looking at the map ???? not much use for me as club coaches will drop us off at the stadium. Gutted it’s not closer ☹️

The centurion is a bar located in central station and is no more than a 10 min walk to the stadium
