Wigan duo Thomas Leuluai and Sam Tomkins handed one-match bans

Post by josie andrews »

Wigan duo Thomas Leuluai and Sam Tomkins have both been handed one-match penalty notices for foul play in the Grand Final.

Tomkins was given a lecture by referee Robert Hicks for using his knees in a tackle on Warrington hooker Daryl Clark, but it was deemed a grade B offence by the Rugby Football League's match review panel.

It was Tomkins' last match for the Warriors as he prepares to take up a three-year contract with Catalans Dragons.

Leuluai was judged to have made a grade B dangerous tackle in the match, which Wigan won 12-4.

Both players will be able to serve the bans in their club's pre-season friendlies.

Tommy can spend that match polishing the Super League trophy.

As long as he doesn't miss the WCC.
Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.

What did Tommy do? Never noticed anything other than is usual 'forceful' tackling!

I think it was the one on Ratchford, he had hold of him and did a kind of scissor tackle with his legs. I thought at the time it looked a bit naughty and Ratchford struggled to get up.

Nice to see Ratchford not making a thing of it, good guy especially donating the mom cheque to joining jack and wigan hospital. maybe he could replace Hardaker.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

If Sam got banned then so should Charnley and to be honest in my opinion it was worse as it was on the face.

I like Ratchford, never should have been MOM but I think he is a good player and a good guy. I always get the feeling that he would love to play for Wigan for some reason!!
