Super League to bring in golden point - and other rule changes for 2019
Re: Super League to bring in golden point - and other rule...
Are they going to have a time limit on the video refs as well whats the point in having the time limit on scrums and kicks if the video refs take an eternity.

They need to get rid of the on field decision as well, limit the video ref to 30 secs and if he can't decide then benefit of the doubt goes to defending teamjaws1 wrote:Are they going to have a time limit on the video refs as well whats the point in having the time limit on scrums and kicks if the video refs take an eternity.

I agree with most pf the changes but I don't like GP. And if you restrict it to Golden Try, it's not so likely to happen. It was fine as it was. I'm happy to see the back of the free play too; it still doesn't prevent refs from using the advantage rule intelligently.

I agree with that, if the on field says it’s a try it’s a try! Why the need to have it confirmed or denied?old hooker wrote:Why not the attacking team Meds?medlocke wrote:They need to get rid of the on field decision as well, limit the video ref to 30 secs and if he can't decide then benefit of the doubt goes to defending teamjaws1 wrote:Are they going to have a time limit on the video refs as well whats the point in having the time limit on scrums and kicks if the video refs take an eternity.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

The GP is stupid. If it's all square after 80 mins so be it.
With the GP does not the team who kicks off in the first period have an advantage? They kick the ball deep and so have the opportunity to pin the other side in their half so after the first set of six will be in a better field position to begin setting up for a drop goal.
The defending side has got to take risks to get down the other end of the pitch far enough to prevent this.

Because the principle should always be, for the ref, if he can't see it, he can't give it!old hooker wrote:
