Wigan Warriors-bound Shaun Edwards poised for a new union coaching role

Post by josie andrews »

Shaun Edwards is set for a new coaching position... but Wigan fans need not fear.

Dragons have held talks with Wales defence coach Edwards over succeeding Bernard Jackman, who left the Welsh region this week

Edwards is in line for the job until at least the end of the 2018-19 season in the summer.

The 52-year-old would continue working with Wales until the end of the 2019 World Cup in Japan. Edwards has already signed a three-year deal to become head coach of hometown club Wigan in 2020, after the World Cup.

Adrian Lam is head coach for 2019 until he passes the baton to Edwards.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
