Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

First pre season fixture less than 2 weeks away

Take a look back at Wigan’s action packed trip to the Lake District as the ramp up preparations ahead of defending their BETFRED Super League title in 2019.

The dawn of the New Year signals that the 2019 season is less than a month away. For the BETFRED Super League champions, this means plenty more hard work on and off the training pitch.

Throwing the squad in at the deep end (quite literally), the side headed for Lake Windermere for a couple of days of training out of their usual environment. See below a tease of their first day of activities. You can watch an exclusive full version on Wigan TV HERE.

Here are a few photos from the squad’s trip to Cumbria.

"They are headed up to the Wild Lake District" Windermere RUFC and the Yacht club are far from wild, Should have took them to Coniston and had them over the Old Man and onto Walna Scar, Dow Crag, Brim Fell, down into Seathwaite, up to Cockley Beck then over Hardknott, back over Birker Fell, Lunch at the Newfield Inn, then back over Walna Scar.
