Shaun Edwards to stay on as Wales defence coach

Post by warriors01 »

According to The Sunday Times SE agreed to stay on as Wales defence coach. Will work with Byron Hayward. At least we can all move on and appoint a new coach.

Good! Get on with sorting our club out the two faced barsteward! 😡
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Hope IL & Rads can appoint and announce the 2020 coach immediately.
Whoever it is can then get on with his involvement in the very important matter of recruiting players to replace those who will not want or be offered a new deal.
A very big job indeed.

Can’t read most of that article as it behind a paywall but in what I can see it says he rejected the offer to become Wigan coach.

Not he didn’t, he was paraded as the new coach from 2020. He’s changed his mind.

He’s burnt his bridges now. He was a frequent visitor and spectator at games and if he has any sense he’d not set foot in Wigan again.

Legendary status gone up in smoke, reputation in taters.

We also need a new chairman. Allowing this situation to happen is just inept from IL and that is a huge understatement. We are left with a coach in Lam who has no real coaching experience and is only supposed to be here for a season. No one knows what is happening next year so which players are going to sign for Wigan when this is where we are.

The club is losing money and is looking like its run by a bunch of amateurs with this, the salary cap breach and players being done for drink driving and suspended for a drug offence. If all this happened under ML’s reign the lynch mob would have been out by now.

Back to Edwards, it’s going to be interesting what statement he will make to the press to justify this. With IL less so as you just know it will be some patronising excuse making bullshit.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

If true then it's "Goodnight from me" to Shaun I'm afraid, and more importantly many, many more from Wigan.
